Public Housing
Senior and family housing projects at Hawaii Public Housing Authority; apply at 1002 N. School Street, Bldg. AClick here for a listing of HPHA projects.  Check the HPHA website for neighbor island offices.

Note:  HPHA senior and family housing projects are accepting applications. Regardless of age, you qualify for senior housing if you are on SSI/SSDI or determined disabled. Section 8 on Oahu is closed; check your neighbor island county or HPHA office for availability. If you are on a waiting list, you must call (the office you applied at) once a year to remain on the list or to update your contact information. Talk to a GHP staff for advise.

The following are just a sampling: some have multiple projects/properties**, some are low-rent, some are senior housing (55+ or 62+). It is likely there is a waiting list, eligibility criteria may differ, and some has rental assistance attached to the unit.

Partners In Care:
a planning, coordinating and advocacy body that develops recommendations for homeless programs and services to fill gaps in the Continuum of Care on Oahu. PIC is  a membership organization of homeless service providers, units of local and state government, consumers, and other community representatives.

National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC): The Coalition works to advance the creation, development, management, and growth of housing for PLWH across the nation.

National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH): a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works to prevent and end homelessness by improving homelessness policy, building on-the-ground capacity, and educating opinion leaders.
